Farish Recreation Area
This one is a bit niche, but Farish Recreation Area is a wonderful option for active duty military couples looking for an affordable venue. Farish Recreation Area is a private 720 acres within Pike National Forest for military families to enjoy. This venue offers breathtaking scenery for you and your guests to admire.
The wedding package includes the Wedding Ridge ceremony space, a reception hall, and lodging for up to 30 guests. The Wedding Ridge has bench seating for up to 60 guests and the reception hall can accommodate 100. The hall includes tables, chairs, and a kitchen equipped with glasses, dishes, and silverware. There is also a lovely wraparound deck for your guests to appreciate views
of Pikes Peak. You have the option of using the open area by the hall to set up tents, a dance floor, or games if you wish to spend time enjoying the outdoors. The entire package is priced at $2,500, but you also have the option to book the Wedding Ridge only. This is priced at $250 for up to 25 guests and $500 for 26 guests or more.
This venue offers a unique experience because it includes 6 duplexes by the reception hall. Each of these duplexes has two bedrooms, a kitchenette, a private bathroom, linens, and towels. There are also a lot of other lodging options if additional guests wish to stay overnight (however,
they must have a military ID to book the lodging). You and your guests can take advantage of the many trails, fishing in three different lakes, paddle boats, and other activities as you spend your time at the recreation area.
